An individual that is marked by God is “strikingly noticeable” and “has a visible mark.”
When others encounter someone that is marked, there is an immediate understanding that the marked person doesn’t conform to the rhythm of the world. They are unique and march to their own drum beat. Growing up, they often felt a need to be noticed for their individuality, colored outside the lines, and thought about everything in a unique out of the box way.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

22 Signs that God has Chosen you and Marked YOU
Here are 22 signs that God has chosen you and marked you for a POWERFUL purpose:
1. God Uses Your Uniqueness in Ministry
There is something VERY obviously different about you. What is it? That’s the secret ingredient God made you with, to STAND OUT. It’s probably an area that you’ve struggled to feel confident about OR that has come under attack. Why the attacks? Because When a marked person partners with God, together they make a POWERFUL combination. Because they are already so different, it makes it easier for God to use their specific qualities to make them shine even brighter.
God used the uniqueness of the characters in the Bible to minister:
- Esther’s unique beauty and purity made her an option to marry the King and save the Jewish nation.
- David’s short stature and young age made him a perfect option to show God’s strength in defeating Goliath.
- Ruth’s loyalty to stay with her mother in law led her to a new land and she was able to meet her Boaz.
- Paul’s passion for God was expressed in killing Christians, but God encountered this fiery man and redeemed his unique gift to spread Christianity.
- Solomon’s wisdom was used to inspire so much of our biblical instructions!
2. You Are An Ambassador
As someone marked by God, you are called to advertise God and be an ambassador for Christ. This means representing God’s character in everything you do and say. It’s not just about outward appearances (what you wear or where you go), but about reflecting His love, integrity, power, and righteousness in your daily life.
The Bible describes this beautifully in John 17:14-15: “I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.”
3. You’re Prophetic
You hear God VERY clearly about your own life and the lives of the people around you. He trusts you with the private details of people’s lives because you have integrity, you love others, and you’re called to prayer. (FYI, you can hear God clearly through the wisdom in the scriptures.) The Bible describes this beautifully in John 15:15, “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”
4. You’re Focused
You are not focused on status, wealth, or power. Your main goal is to please God, not to gain the approval of the people around you. You love and honor others, but you try not to be a people-pleaser because God’s opinion matters the most to you.
The Bible describes this beautifully in 2 Timothy 2:4, “No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.” And, Galatians 1:10: “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

5. You’re Open to Correction
You are aware that only God knows the depth of wickedness that can be hidden within your heart. So, you constantly ask him to search it and make it a worthy space for the Holy Spirit to live. The Bible describes this beautifully in Jeremiah 17:9-10, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”
6. You’re Repentant
When God reveals your heart, you don’t runaway from the pain and blame others for what’s inside of you. You allow your sins to be highlighted and you feel a deep sorrow (not condemnation) for disappointing God. The Bible describes this beautifully in 2 Corinthians 7:10, “For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.”
7. You’re Unique
You don’t conform to the wickedness, lukewarmness, selfishness, and pride that the world tries to corrupt believers with. Instead you display the love, integrity, forgiveness, power, and righteousness of God.
The Bible describes this beautifully in 2 Timothy 2:22-26, “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.”
8. Your Relationships Reflect Christ
You work very hard to have a holy marriage/relationship, healthy friendships, and love everyone around you. You aren’t putting on a show or living a double life. Instead, you are truly putting in the hard work to live at peace with your enemies. You strive to have healthy communication and you are esteemed by the people around you. The Bible describes this beautifully in the following scriptures:
- “Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.” 1 Peter 2:12
- “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
- “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4
- “Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church? He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil.” 1 Timothy 3:2-7

9. You’re NOT Quarrelsome
You have a commanding voice when it’s time, but you also take careful effort to tame your tongue. You know that most battles aren’t won by the exchange of words, but they are won on your knees in praying. The Bible describes this beautifully in the following scriptures:
- “If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless.” James 1:26
- “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29
10. You Strive to Be Gentle
You are full of wisdom, truth, and power, but you know how to communicate with gentle-kindness, peace, and love. “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” James 3:17
11. You Are Wise
You are humble and understand that you don’t know everything and can’t fix everything in the natural realm. During hardships and obstacles, you get down on your knees and cry out to God for his revelation and help. The Bible describes this beautifully in the following scriptures:
- “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:24
- “And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.” Daniel 12:3
12. You Are Called
You feel that God has selected you and wants to do something with your life. This will cause you to be excited about the opportunity to live a purposeFULL life with God by your side. The Bible describes this beautifully in the following scripture: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

15. You Are Filled
You don’t look to people to make you happy, feel loved, nor powerful. You see Jesus as the one to satisfy the thirst in your heart. The Bible describes this beautifully in the following scripture: “Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” (John 7:37-39)
16. You Have A Renewed Mind
You are being given wisdom that uproots false theologies, unbiblical messages, idolatry, and/or fleshly belief systems that contradict the promises of God. The Bible describes this beautifully in the following scripture: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2
17. You Have a Vulnerable Heart
You are okay with being weak and not having everything look perfectly for others. The Bible describes this beautifully in the following scripture: “God’s power is made perfect in my weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-11
18. You Lean On God’s Strength
You recognize that weariness is okay and you aren’t afraid to wait for God to strengthen you. The Bible describes this beautifully in the following scriptures:

- “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.” Hebrews 13:17
20. You Don’t Complain
You practice gratitude and being thankful to God. You try not to complain and question God’s timing. Thank you for helping me know God is with me. Because I have realized all these, initially I thought God was not with me in life nor am been marked by him. By God’s grace, I am definitely been marked. Thanks to the writer for letting me realize all these.

Wow! Thanks for such a powerful comment. It’s really nice to know you were so bless 🙂
Kenneth Gray
Hello,
I am in desperate need to hear from God. I gave myself to God through Jesus 42+years ago. In that time all I have received is silence from God. I am miserable because of this. I can’t do what God wants when He won’t tell me what that is. The whole “God speaks in many ways” is crap. If God speaks to me through dreams then that is useless as I don’t remember dreams. I barely ever even realize that I dreamed let alone what it was about. God speaks through other people. Useless as God has isolated me from other Christians. Almost everyone for that matter. God speaks through the Bible. I have never heard anything from a Bible. Nothing jumps out when reading God’s word. So that doesn’t work. No guidance from God there. God speaks through nature. Have you ever heard anything from a tree, animal, rock? Of course not, these things can’t speak. That way is obviously useless. God speaks through your circumstances. My circumstances are, no involvement from God and life long poverty. What could that be saying other than God doesn’t give a shit about me. I know this sounds bad, but if God wants to speak to me then He needs to do so in a manner that I can perceive. Useless if I can’t perceive it. Not telling God what to do or say, just being straight forward, honest. Silence isn’t speaking. I so need/want to experience something from/of God. This nothingness from/of God is torture. I don’t know why God is stopping Himself from speaking with me. Only God can stop God. God just isn’t here for me.
Thanks and God bless you, by the Holy Spirit, in Jesus holy name, Amen.
Christina Daniels
I will be praying for you as I’ve felt the same way before. Then, God took me on a healing and intimacy journey. Be blessed.

Hi Kenneth Gray,
I ready your article and it was very honest and heartfelt. I can tell that you have a deep sincere desire to hear from God, but over the years you have been frustrated because of His silence. However, the silence does not mean that He is not hearing you. He knows your name and where you live. He knows your frustration and disappointments. He knows your inner most cry and all of your strengths and weakness. The silence means that He is still with you and has never left you. After Moses killed the Egyptian, he fled to a place called Midian and ended up creating a new life by becoming a shepherd, getting married and having children. For forty long years, Moses did not hear anything from God! He just worked and provided for his family. I am sure that Moses definitely felt alone and forsaken by God too (after all, Moses knew that he was called to God’s people prior to killing the Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew. He felt the call to his people, the Hebrews, even while living as an Egyptian after being discovered in a basket by Pharoah’s daughter as she was bathing the river. She raised Moses as her own child and taught Moses the ways and culture of the Egyptians.
By the time God finally spoke to Moses at the burning bush, Moses was 80 years old!!! Did Moses at sometimes believe that God did not call him after all? Yes, I’m sure he had his doubts. Did he think that God forgot about him after spending 40 years living in Midian? Absolutely. However, God did not forget Moses even though He was silent, and God has not forgotten, my friend. Even though you may not hear Him, He is there listening to your pain, frustrations and complaints. He is still watching over you (even though you may not believe) because you are still here — living and breathing the God-given air. Looking at nature and know that your Creator lives. He created this world in 6 days and on the 7th day He rested from all His work. Instead of complaining, start praising God in the midst of your circumstances. Ask Him to remove the doubt, anxiety and pain. Ask Him to open up your heart and speak to you and He will.
You are blessed because you are still here with a mouth to speak, eyes to see and ears to hear. I believe the Lord is speaking to you right now even in the silence. Remember that He does not always speak in the big and the miraculous but sometimes in a still small voice just as He did with Elijah while he was in the cave.
I pray that you will draw near to God so that He can draw near to you. Tell Him everything. He is not angry with you for how you feel because He knows that you are human and also, you are not the first or the last who feel that God does not speak to them. I have been in that place countless times, but I realize that I was really mad at God for no giving me what I want:-) I would say mean things to Him but like a child, I would run back to Him to say I’m sorry with repentance, sobbing and snotting all over the place. I knew that He loved me even though I could not see, hear or touch Him. I just trusted with the little mustard seed faith that I had. Sure, there were times that I doubted His love and even ran away from His love because I wanted to do things my own way; but I paid a price for that!
Please be encourage and remain hopeful in His love. He loves you with an everlasting love. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is God and you are not alone.

Jesus said his sheep hear his voice. You probably need to really repent and turn from your sin and be saved….then be filled with The Holy Spirit. 42 years is a long time not to hear God. It is not on his end, it’s on yours. I say this in love to help you. Cuz God has always been there for me even in my wrong he helped get me out… And I have heard from him and even felt him A LOT.

This is such an unkind and spiritually immature response to someone who is showing up vulnerable and sharing from their heart. This truly breaks my heart.

Praying you can hear from God in the most beautiful way. He speaks to us through so many ways and it’s almost always exactly how we need to hear from Him as an individual. He knit us together so He knows everything about us. He loves you so much friend. I’m so sorry this has been a long and quiet journey.

Hi Kenneth. I see your heart in the comment. I too have gone years feeling depression, extreme desperation for God, and despite my constant seeking, it was like I heard nothing. The heaviness of missing him was killing me. I wanted to die at some points. Please prepare you heart and settle your mind to receive what I am about to say (seriously, just stop readying for a second, close your eyes, and change your heart posture so you can open up to a completely new perspective)….. (breathe). Within reading this, I can sense an extreme amount of pride. I was there, too. First thing is, God does not owe you anything. He doesn’t owe you a word. You are not entitled to hearing from Him. When God speaks to us, it is a high blessing and he does NOT speak audibly, to everybody. Many Christians go their entire lives without hearing His voice, or without having an experience with Jesus. There is so much bitterness and expectation in your words: please look at this. Where is the gratitude for your life? Your breath? You say nature doesn’t speak to you: of course it doesn’t talk, but can you submerge yourself in nature and see the glory of God’s creation in how amazing it is? Can you not watch a sunset and see how the Creator made it all to impress us with the beauty? Nature is an expression of God’s love: he wants you to be impressed with it. Can you revere God in what He has already given you? Can you find love for others again? Can you watch children play and laugh and find awe in the innocence of children? You must find God is in simplicity before He will speak to you. You must embody Christ’s character, before you will even be able to perceive God. There is so much anger in your words. You expected God to show up that way, when you clearly have not found loving and appreciative connection to this world and to other ppl in it? Soften your heart. Release this expectation of needing to hear God, before you’re willing to be happy. Perhaps you could use the silence, to establish greater faith. What if you continued to praise Him, even if that meant you never heard from Him? Go back to the Word and before reading it, ask the Holy Spirit to show you God’s love there. You may not ever hear the audible voice of God, but you CAN hear the Holy Spirit and I guarantee you, that you HAVE heard the HS, but perhaps you did not recognize that’s who it was. Anytime you have conviction, those thoughts are the HS. Anytime you have thoughts of loving others or being more kind to yourself, THAT is the HS. Go back to the Bible, and don’t give up. Ask the HS to lead you and keep doing that until you start to realize that some of the thoughts you’re having as you read, aren’t usually something you would think. That is the HS. Learn the voice of the HS first and be more mindful of what is loving within you, and you will learn that THAT is Christ working through you. Eventually, you will find more clarity around how the HS speaks within you. The Bible says “take every thought captive.” Watch your thoughts and start discerning what thoughts seem out of your normal thought patterns, in a kinder and softer regard. That’s the HS. As you begin to clarify what the HS sounds like, you will start to hear the Bible differently. And as you start to digest the Bible differently, you will begin to see and know God differently, and then MAYBE He will speak to you, but with this attitude and feeling of entitlement to hear from Him, you probably won’t. Can you still live righteously and lovingly and softer, even if He never did? Would you still love God, even if you never heard Him? Perhaps He doesn’t “feel” like you would, so He has closed off from you. You must truly love God, and seek God, unconditionally, to be worthy to hear from Him. You need some radical self honesty. Don’t give up. Be willing to see yourself and humble yourself and die to your own desires. If God hasn’t spoken to you, trust that there is a reason and His reasoning is serves a greater purpose than your desire to hear Him. He is sovereign and owes us nothing! WE OWE HIM PRAISE, no matter what He does or doesn’t do. Where is your trust and loyalty? Search your heart my friend, I will pray for you.

First we have to call upon the right name is Yahweh. His son comes in his name Yahweh Ben Yahweh. There is no letter J in the Hebrew Alephbet, the Bible is Hebrew. The ,letter J didn’t come into existence until 5-6 hundred years ago. Now the man your tal,ing about jesus his name actually is Yashua Ben Yosef. The son of Joseph( as people say) and Mary. The name has been hidden from us the tribe of Judah. This is most definitely The World’s best kept secret. Praise Yahweh for he is God.

Thank You for this inspiring word.
It’s true sometimes we don’t hear from God not that He has moved away but because we have.
I learned in order to hear from God, I had to repent and surrender my all. Everything I couldn’t fix and didn’t understand. I had to trust God completely and it’s not easy. There was times I didn’t want to pray but I had to pray until I prayed. I didn’t want to read my bible because all I could think of was my situation. I had to make a conscious decision to trust God completely and to honor Him and please Him. I realised that what I was going through, was preparation for someone else. I am so excited even though I am still going through my valley. But I’m much better now knowing God has a purpose…and that’s why we are here. To serve others as Christ did. Obedience to God is important and perseverance builds character.
My encouragement to you is don’t lose hope! Faith is trusting where we cannot see. He only has good things in store for you and I. Keep pushing no matter how hard it may be. God is faithful !!!
Remember it’s not the outcome of the situation but Gods promise.
Be blessed.
